Purpose of series:	Records series documenting the official student record data and administrative processes contained in the student information system (Banner). The system is the repository for the university's official student record of all academic and related administrative functions of student enrollment at Dalhousie University, for all academic programs which diplomas and transcripts are produced.
Scope and contents:	Includes (but is not limited to): student biographical information, applications, admissions and academic records, instructor biographical information, academic advisement, financial awards, and fee payment records.

Primary office retention instructions:	S/O = Student account is deemed inactive. After student account is inactive for 10 years it is move to Banner archived storage. After an additional 30 years, accounts with a zero balance attached, will be transfer to the University Archives. Banner will continue to contain a student profile which will contain Banner number, student biographical information, dates of enrollment, grades and program(s)/course(s) completed.
